Forgeworld's Newest Argument for NOT Allowing FW in Regular 40k

The guys over at Forgeworld have made a rather compelling argument about why we should NOT use their rules in standard 40k.

I'm swayed by their cogent discussion points.

  2. It's beautiful seeing the successful marriage of a riptide, wraithknight, and thudd gun.

  3. I'm not sure not using the rules would be enough to keep me from buying it. I absolutely love the look of that mini.

    1. The gun looks good and this model solves my main issue with the model of the Riptide, teeeeeeny tiny head on a big body, kinda silly really

  4. Eh, as long as everyone has access to Forgeworld stuff, this doesn't seem all that bad really... But this is coming from a Marine player looking at the Land Raiders/Spartans with immunity to Melta :-)

    1. In theory everyone has access to some FW stuff, yes. But what you have available varies wildly. Tyranids, for example, don't have access to anything close to this nonsense, or the wacky fun things the Imperial armies can get.

  5. Yeah the Spartan with ceramite isn't exactly too fair either... Having said that I would point out the rules for the new riptide are EXPERIMENTAL and they have several times before nerves down experimental rules. Also at 270 some points that is a very tempting Rune priest jaws target.

  6. No overwatch, no anti-aircraft fire, no jetpack to evade assault, and vulnerable to pinning, poison, instant death, and a colossal amount of points.

  7. I wanna use 3 with an Etheral near by, 72 Fire Warrios, and 6 Crisis suits (or 1 less firwarrior and no crisis and 2 Riptides).
