  1. Am I mistaken, or are there more Daemon players than in other tournaments by ratio?

  5. Strong and tough? I, for one, was torn apart. I'll let the other three speak for themselves. Damn good time though.

  6. I managed to take Best Overall (40k) and am working through a mini-report over on the forum side of things.

Was a very hard fought tournament and a ton of fun. Played 3 warm-up games at open gaming, 3 on saturday for the tourney, and 2 on sunday, and I am whipped.

I need to strengthen my gaming-fu for the invitational/nova weekend I think!

  7. Andrew - Did you get alerted to your invite at the tournament? Also, did Bob Sinnott get the 2nd one with Best General? I saw the stats and it looks like he got Best Gen despite not being 2nd or even 3rd or 4th best battle points ... confused.

  8. mike, not sure how the 2nd invite will work.. i guess you will have to talk to aaron. Bobby got best gen but Jorge Ruiz came in second overall.

btw i want to give aaron props for a very well run tournament. i intend on going back next year. Met alot of very cool people and made a bunch of new friends. I went 3-2 overall against some very good players. Danny "internets" in last round 5

Im also a very proud papa clam. Pissclams JR won Best Sportsmanship and went 3-1-1 overall getting beat by Bobby Sinnott in last round.

  9. also @ Marshal Laeroth

Charles unfortunatly wasnt there.. dont know why. but knowing his army it was a shame he wasnt there. Maybe he was recovering from the excitement of a BT faq update :)

  10. Mike,

Aaron let me know I'd be getting the Vegas and Nova Invitational invite, but didn't have them there (I'm not sure if theres a hard copy?). I'll shoot him an email in a day or two to give him a bit to relax after the event.

As far as BP goes, I haven't seen the standings (are they up somewhere?). I was confused when Jorge got 2nd overall, because I expected him to get best general based on the scores prior to the final round. I think the only possible way for him to have been passed is if a player had 88 going into the final game (he had 89 I believe) and scored a 24 point win with Jorge getting a 22. I'm not sure if maybe Aaron considered 2nd best overall a bigger award than General and awarded it to Jorge for that reason, and then since he doesn't double up on awards gave best general to runner up...or what. But it makes the invitation a bit wonky, my guess as to what happened is the above scenario, and Jorge is (likely) the correct recipient.

  11. I just found the results post on the OM forums where Aaron put them. I think it's a misunderstanding/communication of some sort, but it does indeed appear that that is what happened.

He ranked the "Best Overall" as the larger award, so the player with the highest BP was indeed Jorge Ruiz. However I think he made him "ineligible" because he won the bigger award of 2nd best overall. My guess is then that it's me and Jorge with invites..but I'll leave that to you and Aaron to sort of course!
